Kim Swift joins Xbox Game Studios Publishing

Xbox Game Studios Publishing has announced that the creator of Portal Kim Swift will be joining the team.

Announced via Twitter, they said the following “Our team focuses on three pillars in our games: Community, Innovation and Inclusivity. Today, @K2TheSwift joins us in XGS Publishing to accelerate our Innovation and collaborate with independent studios to build games for the cloud.”

There’s no word on what specific games Kim Swift might be working on at Xbox Game Studios Publishing, but the focus of XGS Publishing includes games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, Contraband and Tell Me Why.

All of the above-mentioned games have something in common, they're all third-party deals with other developers. Hopefully, this means that there will be a continued focus on making deals to get more game pass exclusives for Xbox.

Either way, the future of Xbox is looking super interesting and I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Xbox And Bethesda Possibly Holding A Joint Conference Soon

Xbox and Bethesda Softworks are reportedly holding a joint conference in a few weeks to reveal its current slate of upcoming games.

This report comes from French publication Le Figaro, who apparently spoke to Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty who supposedly said the event would take place in a few weeks.

A joint conference would make sense if Xbox is lacking on titles to show, however, I believe that isn't the case. I think the company will be launching a new Forza game, Halo Infinite, Psychonauts 2, and the possibility of smaller titles like The Gunk showing up in between. They could have a pretty massive E3 this year and adding Bethesda games to that would be absolutely insane.

IO Interactive possibly working on a new fantasy IP exclusively for Xbox

IO.jpg

Hitman and Project 007 developer IO Interactive are working on a new fantasy IP with Xbox according to some recent rumors.

According to Windows Central, the new project will be a fantasy RPG which is apparently currently under the codename of 'Project Dragon' and will have a medieval setting with dragons. The game could also feature a 'connected world' with multiplayer and will be published by Xbox Game Studios.

Eurogamer has also claimed to have heard of the project but added that the game is still some years away. Lastly, some Job listings were posted on IO's website for a Lead Multiplayer Network Programmer which could be tied to the project but nothing has been confirmed
