Nintendo Announces Their Next Console In The Form Of The Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2 First Look Trailer is here and the console looks awesome. It’s sporting a new colour way with the console and joy cons coming in a matte black with hints of red and blue around the thumb sticks.

After what seems to be a lifetime, Nintendo has finally revealed the next generation Switch with a snazzy new trailer. The Nintendo Switch 2 comes in a new colour way with the main body of the console and joycons coming in a matte black with hints of Mario red and blue around the thumb sticks and where the joycons connect to the switch itself.

Nintendo also confirmed that the console will be able to play both physical and digital Switch 2 and Switch games, however not all games will be compatible at launch. Hopefully more games will become available on the console over time.

Lastly, Nintendo confirmed they’ll be showing off more of the Switch 2 at an upcoming Nintendo Direct that will be held on 2nd of April 2025. We’ll most likely get a closer look at what games to expect coming to the console, specifications of the Switch 2 and what current Nintendo Switch games that’ll work on the new hardware.

Nintendo Switch Release Date And Price Announced

Nintendo announced the price of the Switch as well as the release date and launch lineup of games

Nintendo just announced the release date for the switch and it's super soon. As previously speculated we assumed the Nintendo Switch would launch in March but who knew it would drop on the 3rd. Yup, its coming 3rd of March and will cost £279.99 and that's just the console with no pack in game. I find this super strange because they also announced a game in the vain of the super popular WII Sports. Personally, I don't really understand why they wouldn't include 1 2 Switch in the bundle. There so close to "possibly" obtaining the same success they had with the Wii.
